APC Chairmanship: Serving, Former North-west Govs Ganging up against Me, Says Yari
Former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has alleged that some serving and former governors of the North-west states are ganging up to jeopardise his chairmanship aspiration in order to ensure that one of them becomes either president or vice president in 2023.
Yari, who is one of those who have signified intention to become the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he is capable of leading the party to victory in 2023.
The former governor, while speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja, however, said he was not disturbed about speculations of the gang-up of his serving and former colleagues.
Yari stated: “Somebody told me that some of my colleagues and former colleagues are interested in the number one and two slots so, if the (national chairmanship) seat goes to the North-west region, nothing will get to them, so they ganged up to neutralise me.
